Born on October 26, Judith Kanayo-Opara is a Nigerian gospel singer, worship leader, and songwriter better known by her stage name Judikay. Her track “More than Gold” from 2019 helped her become well-known. In November 2019, she launched her debut album, Man of Galilee, following the publication of her first single, “Nobody Else,” in 2013.
Judikay was her parents’ first child, born on October 26, 1994, in Sango Otta, Ogun State. Her hometown is in Delta State’s Oshimili South Local Government Area. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in theater arts from Redeemer’s University in Osun State, after completing her secondary education at Dalos College in Ota, Ogun State.
As a chorister at her church, Christian Pentecostal Mission, Judikay started her musical career. She afterwards joined Florocka as a backing vocalist. Her debut track, “Nobody Else,” which she released in 2013, signaled her official entry into the music industry. The publication of her second song, “More than Gold,” in 2019 helped her become more well-known.
She signed with Nigerian gospel record label EeZee Conceptz on February 25, 2019. November of that year saw the release of her 14-track debut album, “Man of Galilee.”
According to Boomplay’s 2021 Top 50 Gospel Songs, “Capable God” was likewise voted first.
Enkay Ogburuche, a gospel musician, included her in the song “Delight” in January 2023. She has worked with Emmanuel Iren, Mercy Chinwo, Enkay Ogboruche, and other gospel musicians.
Judikay released her second album, “From this Heart,” in June 2022. It has twelve tracks, including “Mudiana,” “Jesus is Coming,” and “Your Grace.” After the album achieved 50 million streams on the worldwide music network, it was awarded a Boomplay Plaque.
